BJ, the fourth of six siblings, is from the village of Sebanjar in Alor. Growing up in a farming family, he learned the values of simplicity, community, and the importance of pulling your weight.

As a compressor operator at Nautika Dive Alor, BJ plays a key role in ensuring divers have the clean air they need to explore safely. With a quiet presence and a love for working behind the scenes, BJ supports the dive operation with a steady hand and attention to essential tasks.

Outside of work, he’s a huge fan of soccer. Whether watching or playing, the sport gives him a sense of camaraderie and a way to stay active and connected with friends.

BJ’s message for the future of Alor is hopeful: he dreams of seeing the island grow and improve beyond what it has ever been. He believes that even quiet contributions can be part of something meaningful.
