Mualim Prasong

Mualim Prasong, or as most people call him, Chello, is the youngest of eight siblings and a proud son of Alor. Growing up in a fisherman’s family, Chello developed a deep connection to the ocean and the community that depends on it. After finishing high school, he dedicated himself to grassroots efforts in environmental protection, becoming one of the most active young voices for conservation in Alor.

Beyond his role as Community & Sustainability Officer at Nautika Dive Alor, Chello is a committed advocate for change. He’s been heavily involved in the Plastic Free Ocean Network and other local initiatives, often speaking up about sustainability and the importance of community-led action.

When he’s not working or in the field, you’ll probably find him reading—a hobby that fuels his vision for a more informed and empowered Alor. His greatest hope is to see the human resources of Alor grow stronger, capable of keeping pace with national and even international development, all while honoring and protecting the environment that makes Alor so special.
